Overview

TWO HOMELANDS is both a commemoration of war and a celebration of community. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Six senior Australian Greek Cypriots – aged 70 to 102 – give emotional eyewitness accounts of their beloved island and their migration to Australia. A universal tale, reflecting on the cost of war and the resilience of the human spirit. Sombre recollections are interspersed with humorous anecdotes – creating a blend of both grief for Cyprus and hope for the future.

And, as migrants, they speak of being torn between their two homelands.
