This was a very personal series for Kay as it explores the Turkish occupation of her family’s birthplace in Cyprus and asks, Why can’t people go back to their homes on the tiny divided island? Presenting different perspectives from a village poet, a rebellious teenager, activist women, a woman who lives in the ‘buffer zone’, and villagers who would rather live under occupation than leave their ancestral homes.
